Movie Review: Battle L.A.
MC ZULUCalifornia: UFOs suddenly appear along the coastline. The military goes on high alert, and civilians are advised to remain in their homes. That’s when things get interesting.
As movies go you’ve seen it all before, right? Flying saucers appear over the skies, the military is scrambled, attempts are made to contact the alien invaders, etc.. etc..
I would have to say no.. You have NOT seen it all before. This project and the storyline strikes me as being extremely well thought out. Given our cynical population of moviegoers, the technological explanations and special effects really have set the bar higher. Nothing seems left to chance.
Battle L.A. also succeeds where others have failed. A convincing back story of the main character, who has his own issues, really draws you in. Aaron Eckhart (Two Face) delivers as the classic ‘Captain America’ cowboy type. Michelle Rodriguez (typecast) and NeYo (WTH?) also get props. Transformers would LOVE to be Battle L.A., Independence Day is the only other movie that came close.
