Movie Review: Thor
Friday, May 20th, 2011Anthony Hopkins plays Odin, who must sleep to regenerate his powers, while his sons Thor and Loki quarrel for control of the kingdom.
I’d love to talk more about the movie, but I can’t get past the fact that racist groups staged impotent protests as it was announced that the role of Heimdall went to a Black man, Idris Elba.
The character in question is based on Heimdallr, the Norse mythological figure described as the “whitest of all gods”. White supremacist groups, hiding beneath the guise of “Conservatism” may have decided that this fictional character should not go to a Black man, but once you see all the GOLD BLING Heimdall is wearing, you must realize… only a Brother could pull off that look.
Further I resent the notion that we haven’t ALWAYS had Black Vikings.
What about Flava Flav?
I think I’ve proved my point here sufficiently.
